H7N9疫苗进行临床试验

Six new human cases of H7N9 bird flu were confirmed in China in the past two days. In Guangdong alone, the total number of confirmed cases reached 58. Among them, 16 patients have recovered and 12 have died.

But experts believe the possibility of a widespread outbreak in the province remains low, as it can not be transmitted human-to-human. Authorities have conducted three thorough disinfections of the province’s poultry markets. Friday marked the 12th consecutive day that Guangdong authorities have confirmed new human cases of H7N9 bird flu.

Officials with the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center said that their genetically engineered vaccine had passed preliminary animal tests on laboratory mice. Once the vaccine passes clinical tests that prove its effectiveness in protecting humans, it will be put into use.
