中国采取行动预防登革热
12,336 cases of dengue fever have been reported across China so far, with at least four deaths. That’s the latest number released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Yin Wenwu, who works as a researcher there, told CCTV that this year’s outbreak is the most serious in decades and that the disease is entering its peak period.
"Currently, there are more than 12,000 cases across the country, that’s the highest over the past two decades. Indigenous cases occur more frequently in autumn. Four provinces are experiencing large outbreaks of the disease, with Guangdong Province being the hardest hit. The other three provinces are Yunnan, Fujian and Guangxi region. These four provinces may see more new cases in the upcoming week-long National Day holiday. Increased travel will also raise the risks of more cases resulting in serious conditions or even death. Local authorities have been strengthening their efforts to eradicate mosquitoes to try and curb the outbreak. The government is also urging people in these provinces to take self-protective measures against mosquitoes and immediately go to hospital to see doctors if they’re experiencing any symptoms," Yin Wenwu with Chinese Center For Disease Control And Prevention said.
