中国将建立更多的汽车充电设施
Chinese government is getting down to solving the problems that are hindering growth of the sector. The government’s efforts include building more charging stations and developing batteries with longer life.
China has more than 60 thousand charging stations across the country and that number is expanding. That’s the word from the head of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
"We have to increase the building of charging facilities," Miao Wei, minister of MIIT, said. "And we have to urge the National Energy Administration and housing authorities to include charging facilities into urban planning."
Miao says China is also working to increase the life of batteries used in electric cars, and to establish national standards for battery quality.
"We compare our standards to other countries," Miao said. "We have covered all of the standards that they have. We also have some standards that other countries don’t have. We are going to adjust the standards as technologies improve."
Miao also noted that the charging stations now available in China have formed a unified standard that could become an international standard. China has now been running its green vehicle pilot program for five years and 88 cities are participating in the effort. That’s up from an initial 33 cities in 2009.
