阿富汗问题伊斯坦布尔进程部长级会议
Istanbul Ministerial Process on Afghanistan in Beijing is the first such meeting since the new Afghan government was sworn-in in late September.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China and Afghanistan have reached a consensus on numerous issues. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, together with his Afghan counterpart, Zarar Ahmad Osmani, co-chaired the meeting on Friday.
Wang said China hopes to show the world its support for the smooth transition in Afghanistan, and develop a consensus in the region for safeguarding security and stability in Afghanistan. Osmani thanked China for hosting the meeting, adding that Afghanistan is willing to develop a close cooperation with China. This conference comes as UK and US troops continue to withdraw from Afghanistan.
