书本促进中美间的相互了解

Many have said the 21st century will be defined by how well China and the US get along. And one book that gives a unique perspective of China-US ties, has been written by someone who has been immersed in both worlds.

Michael Zhang, a senior attorney in the US and doctor of law at the Brigham Young University, is hoping his book bridges the gap between the two largest economies in the world. He shared his perspective on America and how to build deeper trust between China and the US on Wednesday in Beijing.

A frank discussion on ties between China and the US.  Michael Zhang studied in the US in the 1980s and has lived there for over 20 years. His recent book 'A Look Into America' shares his insights into the dynamics between the two countries.

The discussion covered quite recent topics such as the loosening of the US's visa policy towards Chinese nationals. Zhang believes the policy will be a great convenience for Chinese students and will help to promote trust between the countries, especially among ordinary people. He also believes that China and the US should develop a multilayered and comprehensive relationship.

The event was organized by the culture department of Sina and the Wenhui publishing house. They hope the book will be a means of building up this relationship.
