事故接连发生引发安全关注
The recent spate of accidents in China that we covered at the beginning of the show has raised concerns over public safety.
It all started with New Year's Eve's fatal stampede in Shanghai. 36 people were killed, and 49 others were injured during celebrations in the Bund area.
On January 2nd, a building under construction in Central China's Hu-nan Province collapsed. Six workers were killed, and five were injured.
On the same day, a warehouse fire in the northeastern city of Harbin killed five fire-fighters. All of them were in their twenties or younger. 14 others were injured, and more than two thousand residents were affected.
And on Saturday, a 600-year-old tower built in the Ming Dynasty was destroyed in a fire in Southwest China's Yun-nan Province. The structure was a provincial cultural heritage.
