首届亚洲消费电子展在上海开幕

The Consumer Electronics Show is taking a leap into China --the first time the tech extravaganza has been held in Asia -- it opened Monday in Shanghai. What's also new about the show is how auto-oriented it is.

At the pre-show keynote this year, Audi took the lead in talking about its latest electric car, the Audi R8 e-tron. Passengers will be able to experience the car's piloted drive feature on the busy roads of Shanghai for an 8km trip.

The International CES takes place every year in Las Vegas in January, but the Asian version is more focused on Chinese developments and announcements, as well as other Asian companies and gadgets.

China is a key market for consumer electronics, for global brands wooing Chinese consumers and Chinese manufacturers with increasingly global vision.
