两个台风手拉手组团而来
Two typhoons are making their way to China's southeastern coast, and bringing with them gales and torrential rains for the next four days. Weather authorities have issued the third highest typhoon alert for the incoming "Linfa" and "Chan-Hom".
"Linfa" could land as early as tonight in Fujian and Guangdong provinces, and is expected to weaken into a tropical storm. Following shortly behind is the more powerful "Chan-Hom". That typhoon is expected to arrive in the East China Sea a day later, and strengthen into a super typhoon by the time it hits Fujian and neighbouring Zhejiang province on Friday night.Taiwan will also feel the impact.
China has initiated a level-three emergency response, and suspended ferry services on two routes linking Fujian and Taiwan.
Fujian has already evacuated nearly 10,000 people. The twin typhoons were formed at the same time last week on the northwest Pacific, along with a third typhoon. Expert say it's rare to see several typhoons co-existing for as long as these did.
