China is drafting guidelines for auto makers doing business in China to help them obey the country's anti-monopoly law. The National Bureau of Statistics said the guidances will be used along with the anti-monopoly law in China, covering issues such as intellectual property rights, exemption, investigation and fines.
The new guidelines will give auto makers a clearer picture of country's anti-monopoly practices. It will allow business people to take initiatives to abide by the anti-monopoly law. NBS said it would improve the country's market competition.
The guidelines will be transparent, and will give businesses the right to defend themselves during investigations. The NBS said it would be open to different opinions. Many experts and academics participating in the publication said that China's anti-monopoly probes in the auto sector will be a new normal, and will meet international standards in order to protect consumers.
