CCTV's Mandarin Business News Channel has presented its annual 'March 15th Show', to mark the World Consumer Rights Day. The show aired investigative reports into quality scandals in China.
E'le'me, or "are you hungry", an online food booking platform, was exposed to allow restaurants with terrible sanitation conditions to produce food and make deliveries. Other companies exposed include an online second-hand car auction platform, false tooth manufacturer and food producers in Chongqing.
Held annually since 1991, the "315 Gala" has exposed various other consumer-unfriendly practices, according to the feedback collected through the program's mails and social media platforms. Past reports on violations have resulted in real changes and improvements.
