Around 100 people have gathered in a park in Tokyo to protest against the upcoming G7 leaders' meeting. Organizer of the protests, Kenji Tsuchiya, said there was "no legitimacy" in leaders from a limited number of industrialized nations making decisions on global issues behind closed doors. He said the meeting aims to strengthen the US-Japan alliance and encourage quote "the move towards war."
The G7 group consists of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States. All are also members of the broader G20, which also includes China, India and other emerging economies. The summit starts on Thursday in central Japan's Ise-Shima.
