金正恩出席朝鲜青年同盟大会

The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un, has commemorated the country's youth day at a celebration event in Pyongyang.  The celebration followed on the heels of the 9th Congress of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.

The DPRK's youth league was created by the country's founder Kim Il Sung in 1946. The league plays a major role in the DPRK's social system and it is governed by the country's ruling party, the Workers' Party of Korea. Some 5 million young men and women are active members of the group.
