One of the most popular sentences online states that “REMEMBER...always act like you're wearing an invisible crown.” What the saying indicates is the importance of self-confidence, an attitude that we should take toward our life.

Here are two main reasons why we should be confident. First, to be confident is the foundation of individual success. In reality, to achieve even the smallest goal, or to take on daily duties and responsibilities, we have to have self-confidence. For example, when we go for a job interview, if our body language gives any sign of uncertainty, the interviewer may pick up on that and give the opportunity to someone else. A saying goes that necessity is the mother of invention and I cannot agree more. Every significant invention in the world, from the ancient time to the modern period, is the result of needs.  The reasons why I say so are as follows.

First and foremost, needs are the primary impetus behind any invention. For example, paper, one of the four great inventions of ancient China, was invented to meet the growing demands of materials for writing upon. Besides, the inventions that satisfy people's needs are full of vitality. Being created for fun, an invention may cause novelty and curiosity for a period, but it cannot last long and people will forget it soon. What's more, needs get inventions constantly improved and upgraded. We can learn it from the evolution of cell phones and computers, both of which are ceaselessly upgraded with the development of modern society.

In short, necessity inspires men's creativity and encourages continuous improvement and inventions with practical use should be based on practical necessity.

Never Give Up

As the saying goes, “Never give up.” What it implies is that in order to achieve our goals, we should never give up, even when we are in adversity.

Actually, human history abounds with examples to prove this saying. Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the stories of some famous people, such as the story of the famous scientist Edison, who argued that genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. As we all know, Edison invented the light bulb. Persistence plays the most important role in his success. Contrary to the popular belief, he didn't “invent” the light bulb, but rather discovered the right filament after a long-term try and thousands of experiments. Afterwards, he spent one and a half years inventing an incandescent lamp with a filament of carbonized sewing thread burning for thirteen and a half hours.
