2012年8月20日北美新GRE机经回忆（网友回忆）

　　悲剧的抽到了VQVQV，V148，Q170。。。准备一个月以后二战。
　　Issue
　　Claim: When planning courses, educators should take into account the interests and suggestions of their students.
　　Reason: Students are more motivated to learn when they are interested in what they are studying.
　　Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
　　Argument
　　The following appeared in a letter to the school board in the town of Centerville.
　　"All students should be required to take the driver's education course at Centerville High School. In the past two years, several accidents in and around Centerville have involved teenage drivers. Since a number of parents in Centerville have complained that they are too busy to teach their teenagers to drive, some other instruction is necessary to ensure that these teenagers are safe drivers. Although there are two driving schools in Centerville, parents on a tight budget cannot afford to pay for driving
　　instruction. Therefore an effective and mandatory program sponsored by the high school is the only solution to this serious problem."
　　Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

　　V1长阅读是英国的actress，考到了King的作用等等。常见的阅读机经。
　　短阅读 silent earthquake各种特性，如强度，持续性等。有题目考到silent earthquake和传统地震的区别
　　逻辑阅读 科学家发明了一种新的技术检测献血者donate血液里的hepatitis病毒。因为患hepatitis的人都会在血液里产生抗体，于是这种新技术检测的就是这个抗体。查出了这个抗体的血液都被discarded了。但是这个技术有一个小小的风险。问题是，什么原因会导致这个技术有小小的风险，答案包括患者需要2个月才能产生抗体，这个技术不能完全检出抗体等。不知道选什么。。。
　　短阅读Highway-only policy
　　短阅读 有个人的文学作品不太好归类，起初她在欧洲，受到欧洲surrealism的影响，后来搬到Mexico，还是继续surrealism。再后来的一部分作品就realism (?)了
　　短阅读 观点是批判某个人的一个文学作品对African America的影响被critics过于放大，以至于忽略了其他作家作品的影响
　　短阅读 两种beaver，河里的deep water和岸边的on bank，由会不会筑坝来区分。河里的比较危险，因为他们不会筑坝，水满的时候它们的家就不safe了，岸边的会筑坝，但是由于某个原因他们好像会需要relocate
　　短阅读 V3最后一篇是长江水稻，但题目不一样。问什么支持了气候学说（长江附近的冬季气温比南部要搞2-4度）。
　　Quantitative
　　考了不少概率和standard deviation。但是SD的问题，基本上只要一个基本公式就搞定了。
