  There are several options. Firstly, I would go and speak to him, and askhim if he could reduce the noise, or at least limit it to reasonable hours. Ifthat does not help, I would report him to the authorities. And lastly, if thatdoes not have the desired effect, I will start making a loader noise at timeswhen I know it would trouble him.

  That’s an interesting question. Firstly, it will depend on the nature ofthe emergency. For example, should I come across a serious road accident, Iwould call the emergency number on my mobile phone, and ask them to send thenecessary help like a doctor and an ambulance immediately. Secondly it woulddepend on where the emergency occurred. For example, if I found a fire in myhouse, I will initially try to extinguish it myself. If this seems in vain Iwill call the fire station for assistance.

  158. What are the most serious problems associated with modern life? ( 5 -8 )

  That’s an interesting question. Allow me to explain my personal views byshortly mentioning the following points: I feel that there are a number ofserious problems associated with modern life. Firstly, pollution is slowly butsurely killing the whole planet Earth. For example, air pollution is making itmore and more difficult for people to live in our cities. Secondly,overpopulation is making life on the planet unbearable. For example, in manyparts of the world people are living in poverty. They have no future, and thequality of life they are experiencing is terrible.

  159. What troubles you most at the moment? ( 5 - 8 )

  I am pleased to say that I do not have any serious troubles or worries atthe moment. Passing the IELTS test is working on my nerves a bit, but I amprogressing well, and I am positive that I will be successful in the end.

  160. What do you think a good teacher is like? ( 5 - 8 )

  That’s an interesting question. Allow me to explain my personal views byshortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, I believe teachers must lovewhat they are doing. For example, they should have the interests of the studentsin their minds all of the time. Secondly, I believe teachers should be welltrained in the subjects that they are to present to the students. For instance,they should have a lot of self-confidence when they are in front of theclass.
