2021年1月雅思口语新题a computer/phone game you enjoyed in your childhood答案及解析

  解析:

本题既可以属于旧题改编,也可以说是一道纯新题。因为在前两个季度中,题库中有一道题目是Describe an indoor game you played in your childhood.

Describe a computer/phone game you enjoyed playing in your childhood.

You should say:

What it was

When you played it

Who you played it with

And explain how you felt about this game

  参考答案:

I must say that when I was a younger teenager I was crazy about computer games. There was a computer bar, I think you’d call it, like an internet place really, near to my home. There were about 200 computers in there and you went, paid a small fee per hour, then you could spend as long as you liked there. There was a fridge where you could buy soft drinks and snacks. It stayed open all night. I played a game called World of WarCraft, a really popular online fantasy game where you have a character and play against other people all across the country, playing the same game. I used to go to this internet place and sometimes stay up all night playing the game. I got really good at it too, and reached a really high level. My character was a sort of warrior, a Viking-type warrior with thick heavy armour and a huge axe. You could also collect a lot of magic spells and things like this in the game, which made it more exciting, and fight dragons and wizards and all sorts of different fantasy opponents. I used to feel really thrilled playing it – there can be something highly addictive about computer games, actually, and many hours can go by without you even realizing it when you’re really into a game. Today, I still have a game machine, actually. A Playstation 5, which came out only a month or so ago. So, today, I play at home, which is more comfortable really. But, still, I am quite nostalgic about those days when I was in my early teens when I went to the computer place and spent entire nights online playing games. It was also a bit more social really because you’d end up having chats and making friends with the other gamers who went there during breaks, and compare ideas and strategies and experiences. To be honest, you can learn a lot from playing computer games, especially ones that involve really having to think and solve puzzles and things like this.
