What the drawing is trying to portray is that two handicapped people are depending on each other while the crutch is left behind them. The picture seems to be humorous and preposterous but thoughtprovoking on second thoughts, which serves to remind us that cooperation is of utmost significance and without it, the society we live in can not going smoothly.

Undoubtedly, the purpose of the drawing is to illustrate that due attention has to be attracted to the fact that cooperation is of great value in reality. With more emphasis put on “building a harmonious society”, people in mounting numbers begin to realize that we should serve each other. Obviously, cooperation is pervasive in nearly every field of our society, which, in a certain sense, should be given deep consideration. It is commonly acknowledged that each member of the team, during the game, must cooperate with his teammates, and otherwise, they would lose the game no matter how skillful each individual player might be.

The vivid picture, to my mind, is urging us to cultivate the awareness of the public that helping each other has always been the traditional virtue of our nation. As the central task of our country is to “build a welloff society in allround way”, more efforts should be made to strengthen the cooperation of people. Only in this way, can we lead a harmonious and happy life. (233 words)

The picture depicts a moving and encouraging scene of cooperation between two lame men. One has lost his right leg and the other, his left leg. Yet they walk arm in arm, leaving their crutches behind. According to the words on the picture, the two may even plan to travel around the world.

The cartoon is thoughtprovoking in that it highlights the importance of cooperation. Without cooperation, the two people have to walk with the help of crutches respectively; now by mutual support, they are able to walk like a normal person and travel the world. The theme of the cartoon is thus clearly shown. Obviously, cooperation is a good solution to challenging tasks nowadays. People have limitations; one always faces difficulties or puzzles beyond the individual’s capability. However, if people work together, they can help each other out or one’s merits can make up for another’s weakness, and the work will be accomplished in a more efficient and creative way.

Common sense tells us, one arrow could be broken easily, but three bound together would not be easily bent. And also goes the English proverb: “Many hands make light work.”

The power of cooperation and solidarity is the key to harmony and prosperity. In this way, helping others is exactly helping yourself. (213 words)
