(BEIIJNG, May 11) -- Li Zhaoxing, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, has a poetic side, which he reveals in the song "One World One Dream," a song whose lyrics he penned.

When Beijing won the bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games, the nationalistic ex-Minister Li was extremely excited and proud. Mr. Li wanted to do something to contribute because hosting the Games is a cause for celebration for all Chinese people.

Even with a back-to-back schedule, Mr. Li managed to write the lyrics to "One World One Dream" during a few spare minutes on his way to a meeting one day.

The music to "One World One Dream" was later composed by Professor Wu Jun of the Beijing Music Conservatory. Mr. Wu would never have imagined having any reason for interaction with the ex-foreign minister, let alone in the music realm.

However, from the ex-foreign minister's written lyrics, Mr. Wu could sense the author's passion.

"As I composed the music for "One World One Dream," I could tell that Mr. Li and I are fellow citizens钬ith overflowing passion for the Olympics. We both had a common goal of creating an exceptional Olympic song. I composed the song in one sitting."

Together, the lyrics and music of "One World One Dream" bring us a touching, poignant Olympic song.

"One World One Dream" debuted on the Olympic song search program, Olympic Songfest on May 11.
