China's Peng and Sun take first gold

(BEIJING, Mar. 11) -- China's Peng Shuai and Sun Tiantian beat the top-seeded Chan Yung-Jan and Chuang Chia-Jung of Chinese Taipei to capture the women's doubles gold at the Bangalore Open '08 on March 11 (Beijing time).

During the past few months, the Peng-Sun partnership has performed well, and the two have become another powerful tennis pair, in addition to Zheng Jie and Yan Zi.

Peng-Sun won the first set of the women's double's final 6-4 and experienced a fight back by Chan-Chuang in set two. However, the Chinese Taipei pair didn't stick it out in the final set. Peng-Sun took eight of the next 10 points before closing out a 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 win.
