2008 Pacific Life Open: Roddick loses against Haas

Roddick, who has won two ATP men's singles titles, didn't perform well in Indian Wells, where he had high expectations going in.

Hass didn't give Roddick a chance to break his serve in the first set but managed to break Roddick's serve for a crucial point. Roddick lost the first set 6-4. In the second set, although Roddick paid more attention to his performance, he still failed to break the German's serve and also lost the set 6-4.

The whole game lasted an hour and twenty-four minutes. The statistics showed that Roddick had produced six aces and two double faults. Haas had four aces but no faults.

Andy Murray, the No. 11 seed from the UK, defeated Austrian Jurgen Melzer 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. The No. 15 seed, Spaniard Tommy Robredo, spent more than three hours against Chilean Nicolas Massu and won the game 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(5).
