Chinese quartet sets new Asian record of 4X100m freestyle relay

SHAOXING, East China, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese quartet set anew Asian record for 4X100 meters freestyle relay in three minutes17.07 seconds at an Olympic trial here on Thursday.

In the heat, Chen Zuo, Huang Shaohua, Lv Zhiwu and Cai Li, who swam the four legs, led throughout the intense race.

The previous Asian record for the event was made by the Japanese team in 3:18.38 at a swim meet in Japan last August.
