Hambuchen snatches 1st gold of Cottbus World Cup

COTTBUS, Germany, April 12 (Xinhua) -- German gymnast Fabian Hambuchen snatched the first gold medal of Cottbus gymnastics World Cup on Saturday.

Hambuchen, a horizontal bar gold medalist at 2007 Stuttgart World Championships, popped out to top podium with 15.3 points at men's floor.

The 21-year-old athlete was named male German sportsperson of the year 2007, he also won the all-around silver medal at 2007 Stuttgart World Championships.

Chinese gymnast Zou Kai, who ranked first in the qualifying round a day earlier with a high score of 15.6 points, was kicked out of the competition after he crossed out of the field in his finishing flip.
