America crushes ROK in women's basketball tournament

(BEIJING, April 21) -- Fowles Sylvia scored 20 points and 10 bounds to lift powerhouse America over Asian giant the Republic of Korea (ROK) 92-56 on Monday in the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Women's Basketball International Invitational Tournament at the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium.

Legends Leslie Lisa and Smith Katie led the American squad in the starting lineup, which ensured America's easy victory.

Rising star Fowles stood up in the first quarter and led the America to a 23-13 lead. She caused huge trouble to ROK's porous defense.

ROK pushed up America with consecutive three-pointers, but America was not downed and still took a 39-28 lead in the second quarter.

It was America's turn in the third quarter. ROK was left no solutions in front of America's unstopped attacks. It was left 42-61 behind.
