Number of Colombian athletes to Beijing Olympics rises to 63

BOGOTA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- The number of Colombian athletes to attend the Beijing Olympic Games rose to 63 as Geiner Alonso Mosquera Becerra, the 400 meter runner surpassed the minimum mark of 45.95 seconds required by the Athletics International Federation (45.95), local media said on Monday.

Mosquera gained the berth by reaching 45.89 seconds.

The flag bearer will be the cyclist Maria Luisa Calle, who won bronze in the Olimpic Games in Athens 2004.
