Adriano wants to return to Italy

BRASILIA, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The Brazilian forward on a current loan from the Italian team of Internazionale to the Brazilian team of Sao Paulo claimed on Sunday that he intends on returning to Italy.

Adriano said he felt a new sense of confidence after having been added to the Brazilian national team.

With less than two months left on his temporary contract with Sao Paulo, Adriano is looking forward to returning to Europe. He highlighted that the fans and media in Sao Paulo have been very welcoming and supportive. His next challenge is to do the same in Europe.

The Brazilian ran into a variety of problems while with Internazionale, especially after his father passed away. "I was depressed and had problems with alcohol. I am done with drinking excessively. I am getting over my problems and I want to maintain my level of performance on and off the field, " said Adriano.

Adriano will return to play with Internazionale after June 10. At Sao Paulo, the forward scored 16 goals thus far. He came to Sao Paulo in December of last year. Due to his strong performance in Brazil, he caught the attention of Dunga and was reinstated as a member of the national team.
