Hungarians claim four gold medals on the final day of 2008 Szeged World Cup

(BEIJING, June 8) -- Attila Vajda of Hungary, who was touted as the "golden boy" after winning bonze in the C-1 Men's 1000-meter in Athens, topped the C-1 Men's 500-meter final on June 7 in the 2008 MOL ICF Flatwater Racing World Cup in Szeged, Hungary. With this achievement, he doubles his titles earned in this tournament, as he took first place in the C-1 Men's 1000-meter on Thursday.

His time of 1:56.085 on Saturday beat three-time Olympic gold medalist Andreas Dittmer by a small margin of 0.12 seconds. German paddler Sebastian Brendel finished third at 1:58.683.

The Hungarian pair of Zoltan Kammerer and Gabor Kucsera passed the finish line with a time of 1:35.292 in the K-2 Men's 500-meter final, narrowly beating runner-up Ronald Rauhe and Tim Wiesk
