Cat Whitehill: Already time to say goodbye to Beijing Olympics

2008-06-14来源:
(BEIJING, June 13) -- Cat Whitehill will have to say farewell to the Beijing Olympic Games, even before they start. The American footballer injured her left knee during team training in Seoul, ROK. An MRI indicated that she tore her ACL, which will prevent her from participating in the Beijing Olympics.

Whitehill, 26, is one of the key players on the U.S. Women's Football Team; her injury came as a heavy blow to the defending Olympic champions.

Whitehill will be replaced by Stephanie Cox, who will travel to Seoul to join the national squad to play the Peace Queen Cup, and she will also be considered for the roster for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games.
