(BEIJING, June 16) -- In women's trap shooting final at the 2008 ISSF World Cup in Belgrade, Italian shooter Giulia Iannotti claimed the gold medal with a total score of 91 hits, as reported by the ISSFNEWS website.

Iannotti, 30, finished fourth with 69 hits at the qualification competition. She secured her head place in the final by shooting 22 more targets. "This is my second Gold here; I won the 2007 World Cup Final on this range," the ISSFNEWAS website quoted Iannotti as saying after the match, "but this has been a difficult final."

Three shooters finished tied in second and had to go for a shoot-off. After starting with 72 qualification clays and two targets of advantage on the followers, 29-year-old shooter Iveta Loosova from the Czech Republic did not seem to have good luck in the final, though. She missed more than once there, ending up finishing fourth with a total score of 90 + 1 hits.

Silver went to 45-year-old Anita North of Great Britain, who missed none of the five targets in the shoot-off and secured a runner-up place with 90+5 hits. Tatiana Barsuk of Russia, the 2005 Junior European champion, captured the bronze medal. Neither of North and Barsuk had won a World Cup medal before.
