KUALA LUMPUR, Jan.20 (Xinhua) -- China seized two gold medals at the Proton Malaysia Open Badminton Super Series 2008 (Malaysia Open) here on Sunday.

China's mixed doubles pair He Haibin/Yu Yang fought a quick battle against their South Korean rivals Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung, winning 21-14 and 21-15 to claim the title.

China underlined its strength in the women's doubles as its two pairs met in the final, in which Gao Lin/Zhao Tingting upsetting teammates Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen 21-13, 16-21 and 24-22.

However, Chinese shuttlers missed the titles in the men's singles and women's singles.

Zhu Lin, a promising Chinese female player, squandered a 1-0 lead in sets to lose 21-18, 19-21, 18-21 in the contention with Denmark's Tine Rasmussen for the women's singles gold.

Zhu opened her fight with Rasmussen well, but seemed very tired and weak in the later battle, sending the shuttle to the net frequently or failing many times to make any response to the shuttle falling down right at the margin of the court.

All of China's male shuttlers, including Bao Chunlai, Chen Yu and Chen Jin, failed to reach the final of the men's singles.

Chen Yu was the only Chinese male shuttler in the semifinals, but was defeated by Malaysian's top player Lee Chong Wei in the semifinal on Saturday.

China's Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng also lost their chance to obtain the title in the men's doubles as they were defeated 16-21, 21-19, 17-21 by Danmark's pair Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen.

Indonesian Markis Kido/Hndra Setiawan beat Denmark's Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen 21-10, 20-22 and 21-18 to bag the gold medal in the men's doubles.
