(BEIJING, June 19) -- Indian shooter Ronjan Sodhi equaled two different world records during the Double Trap competition at the ISSF World Cup in Belgrade and finished first ahead of British shooter Richard Faulds in second and Hakan Dahlby of Sweden in third.

The 28-year-old Sodhi did well in the qualification round, hitting 147 targets and equaling the world record set by Michael Diamond of Australia at the 1998 World Championships in Barcelona.

Sodhi entered the final round with a two-target lead over the nearest competitor and shot his way to his first ISSF gold by missing only three of the 50 targets in the final. His impressive 194 hits equaled the world record set by Italy's Di Spigno nine years ago at the 1999 World Championship in Tampere.

Silver-medalist Faulds, a Sydney Olympic champion and winner of the Double Trap at the ISSF World Cup hosted in Suhl, finished with 192 hits. Swedish champion Dahlby hit 191 targets, good for a third place finish and his second trip to the podium of the season
