Hewitt, who once held the position at the top of the charts which is currently occupied by Federer, was the youngest male ever to be ranked number one. He overpowered Federer from 1999 to 2003, winning seven of their first nine matches. Hewitt is known for his competitiveness, relentless aggression, consistent shots, and highly skilled footwork. Here at Wimbledon last week, he defeated Italian tennis player Simone Bolelli to secure his meeting with Federer. "It's good to get out there and play on Centre Court, play against the best player in the world," Hewitt said.

As Federer has the advantage over Hewitt (he is very psychologically fit and has a better handle on his tennis skills), the No. 20 seed knows that it will not be an easy job to conquer his opponent. "You've got to work out tactics. The last five years no one's been able to get it right here. Rafael's come close the last couple. You've got to treat it a little bit differently. I'm going to have to play extremely well. Whether my absolute best, I don't know. A lot depends on how he plays, as well," said Hewitt.

Federer is not taking the upcoming encounter lightly. "I've definitely done well against him but I haven't played him in a while so that probably favors him. He knows what it takes to win Slams, and it'll be my first big test at this tournament."

Over his career, the Swiss has won twelve Grand Slam singles titles
