FIFA congratualtes CON president

MANAGUA, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The International Federation of Association beijing2008.cn/cptvenues/sports/football/index.shtml' target=_blank>Football (FIFA) had congratulate the president of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee (CON) Julio Rocha for his sports academic formation, official sources said Tuesday.

CON's spokesman Moises Avalos told Xinhua that FIFA president Joseph Blatter congratulated Rocha for has finishing a master degree on Sports Law and Management in Spain.

Rocha is president of the Nicaraguan Federation of Football (FENIFUT) and CON, his task is to take Nicaragua to the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008 that will be held from Aug. 8 to 24.

"With admiration I have received the news of his obtaining of the Masters on Sports Law and Management, and I greet you with all my heart," Blatter said in a letter sent to Rocha.

For FIFA and for him it is a great honor to have persons well academy educated, with passion for the sports, but with a solid academic formation in issues like economy and law, Blatter said.

Blatter said that without the economy and law, the sports in general, it would not have acquired the relevant roll that nowadays it has.

"Therefore I thank your disposition to collaborate with us and I wish you success in your professional future," Blatter told Rocha in the letter.
