(BEIJING, July 7) -- USA Gymnastics now finds itself in a hard position after gymnast Morgan Hamm received a public warning from the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for a positive drug test. It needs to consider whether the positive drug test will impact Morgan's qualification to the 2008 US Olympic Team.

Hamm, 25, tested positive for triamcinolone acetonide, a glucocorticosteroid, on May 24, 2008, the second day of competition at the 2008 Visa Championships. According to the USADA's official statement, "the doping offense involved the use of a prescribed anti-inflammatory medication under the care of a physician but without first seeking a therapeutic use exemption as required by the applicable rules."

Morgan Hamm, who helped the American team win silver in the team gymnastics competition at Athens 2004, is the twin brother of 2004 all-round Olympic champion Paul Hamm.
