Simeon Williamson placed second in the qualifier with 10.03 seconds, while World Championship relay bronze medalist Craig Pickering was third in 10.19 seconds. However, Chambers' stunning performance cannot guarantee him a ticket to Beijing. In early 2004, he was slapped with a two-year ban from athletics and a lifelong ban from Olympics competitions for taking drugs. The IAAF reported on its website that Chambers made his first return to athletics in June of 2006, when he finished in third place in 10.07 seconds in the Norwich Union British Grand Prix.If the ban is lifted, Chambers is likely to be included in the UK's 4x100m Olympic relay squad, said the report by the Associated Press. The final roster of the UK's Olympic squad is scheduled to be released by July 20.
