She was the first woman to represent Team GB in weightlifting at the Athens Olympic Games four years ago.

Breeze trained at full pace in the past few months while she waited for the Olympic call. She described her training period as being in "no man's land".

"I am absolutely delighted to get a place, all the hard work has paid off and I'm really looking forward to getting out there," said a relieved Breeze after learning she will go to Beijing.

In the Athens Olympic Games, Breeze lifted 120.0kg in the clean and jerk but only 92.5 kg in the snatch, which left her back in ninth place overall in the women's 58kg division.

Breeze believes on a good day with good preparation she can get in the top eight next month in Beijing.

Team GB is expected to consist of approximately 300 athletes and a further 200 officials. The team will compete in 20 sports.
