Robles and Liu aim for Olympic gold

Liu and Robles(Photo credit: Mark Dadswell/Getty Images)Photo Gallery>>(BEIJING, July 24) -- The dual between Dayron Robles of Cuba and Liu Xiang of China in the Men's 110m Hurdles is shaping up to be one of the major highlights of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games this summer.

Robles, the new 110m Hurdles world record holder, clocked a stunning 12.91 seconds to win at the AF Golden League meet in Stockholm. This is his fourth sub-13 second performance this year.

Robles has become the first person to finish within 12.90 seconds twice in history.

Defending Olympic gold medallist Liu, clocked a time of 12.91 seconds to win gold at the Athens 2004 Games, while Robles improved Liu's former world record 12.88 by 0.01 seconds in June of this year.

The Men's 110m Hurdles final is scheduled on August 21 at the Beijing Olympics.
