Spain switches women's hoops roster

(BEIJING, July 28) -- Guard Nuria Martinez has recovered from a finger injury that kept her out of the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Olympic Qualifying Tournament, and Spain's coach Evaristo Perez has confirmed she will reclaim her place on the team.

With Martinez's return, Silvia Dominguez will be left behind as the team heads to the Olympics.

"I want to thank Silvia because she has helped us in training," Perez said.

"It's a pity that we cannot take 13 players to Beijing."

In other Spain Women's Basketball team news, EuroBasket Women 2007 MVP Amaya Valdemoro, will be sitting out the warm-up tournament in Moscow against Russia, the Czech Republic or Israel, also because of injury.
