1) close call 有两个意思：
①something dangerous almost happened 差点出了事
I almost got hit by a car today, but Bob pushed me out of the way and saved my life! Phew, that was a close call!

②a close competition 胜负难分的比赛
I don't know which team will win. They're both so good!! It's going to be a close call.

2) call the shots 做最后决定
I don't call the shots around here. Melissa makes all of the decisions, so go talk to her.

3) Let's call it a day 我们今天就到这儿吧
We've been studying for 12 hours straight! My eyes hurt so bad. Let's call it a day.
