Diana : Have you finished the novel, Vera?

Vela : Yes, haven't you?

Diana : No, not a bit. I was ....

Teacher : Which question are you discussing, girls?

Vera : Oh, the first one, Mr. Fox.

Teacher : Good. What sarcastic statements did you find in William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying?...Diana?

Diana : Er...well ....      

Teacher : Why did he choose As I Lay Dying as the title?

Diana : Well, Mr. Fox ....

Teacher : It has nothing to do with me, Diana.

Vera : Mr. Fox, I think ....

Teacher : If you don't mind, Vera, I'm talking to Diana.

Teacher : Why not?

Diana : Because I didn't finish reading the novel.

Teacher : Meet me at my office after class, Diana.

Diana : Yes, Mr. Fox....He is so mean.
