matter

as a matter of fact

用：此习语有以下两种用法:
①多用在句首，表示加强语气，进一步一说明、肯定这时可换用的其他习语有in fact; in actual fact:或较正式的用语in point of fact等
意：的确;确实;实际上;事实上
例：She didn't mention it. As a matter of fact, I think she didn't know about it at all.
她没提这事。实际上，我想她根本就不知道这回事!
I think so* as a matter of fact, I' m quite sure of it.
我想是这样，事实上我也十分相信是这样，
I didn't see him-as a matter of fact I didn't try.
我没有去看他，说实在的，我根本就没想去。

（2）多用在句尾，表示所讲的话可能会使听者感到意外或与其所期待正相反，是听者难以接受的事实
意：可实际上;碰巧如此;可恰恰相反

用;此习语有以下两种用法:
(1)用来强调所述事情ldj样会发土在他人身上，或某种情况在其他面也同样如此
意：也的确如此;实际上一也…;同样也如此;可不是嘛
例，We have no troops east of never, or west of it for that matter.
多佛以东我们没有军队，多佛以西也同样没有。
A: She's shaking with the cold.
她冷得直发抖。
B : So am I, for that matter.
可不嘛，我也是。

②}指针对某种情况，某事而言
意：对此;为这(那)事儿
例，1}nu've got to go to London on Tuesday, and for that matter I could take a day off work and come with you.
星期二你得去趟伦敦，为此，我也可以休一天假跟你一起去。

用：用来强调。
意：不管是谁(什么，在哪里…)
例，Don't open the dnor, nn matter whn calls!
谁叫都别开门!
No matter what happen, I'm still going to da it.
不管出什么事儿，我都要做这件事的。

意：这是正经事儿;这是重要的事儿;这事儿可开不得玩笑
例，Iwvk, it's no laughing matter you know! I might have been killed!
