用：用于句首、句中，在否定句中多用于句尾。
意：要说(稍)有区别的话;如果有什么的话…
例 He didn't Ivok nervous. If anything, he hxsked slightly perplexed.
他看上去并不紧张二要说有点儿什么的话，他看上去倒略有点儿不知所措的样子。
My dear, you look, if anything, mare beautiful now.
亲爱的，如果说你样子有什么不同的话，那就是你现在长得更漂亮啦.

用：表示无奈。
意：既然如此…;我只好…;我不得不，一
例：oK, I' 11 talk to him if I must.
好吧，那我只好跟他谈谈二
Well, I' Il take her advice if I must.

意：我要是你呀…;要我是你的话，我就…
例 .If I were you, I'd refuse the money.

意：(虚拟语气)要不是因为…的话;要是(某人)没…的话
例.If it hadn't been for you, we would have finished much sooner.
要不是因为你，我们会完成得更早一些一:

要不是你的愚蠢，这种事才不会发生

用：表示愿望、后悔等情感。
意：要是…该多好!真希望…;但愿…就好了!
例，if only she could have lied a few years longer!
她要是能再多活几年该多好哇!
If anly I could be a jockey!
但愿我是个赛马骑师!
If only you could have met him.
我真希望当时你能见到他!
