B: I had a quarrel with my girlfriend a few days ago. Since our quarrel we have not been on speaking terms. To tell the truth, I am really ticked off by her.

A: Oh, come on. Let bygones be bygones. Why don’t you get in touch with her and talk things over quietly? I’m sure you’ll be able to work things out.

on speaking terms
1. 解词释义
On speaking terms经常和with搭配使用,是指“关系,友谊”。它的字面意思是“与人认识的程度到谈话的程度”,引申为“关系好,彼此友好”的意思。
