A: The teacher was really upset about that broken window. Thank goodness Tommie has a reputation as a sincere, honest boy.
B: If he had not been straightforward with her, we would have all been in trouble.
A: He was direct and said we were all throwing snowballs and really didn’t know who had hit the window and he apologized.
B: Because of his candid response and childlike frankness she couldn’t be angry.

A: 老师对打破窗户的事很生气。谢天谢地，Tommie一向被认为是个真诚、老实的孩子。
B: 要不是他向老师坦白了这件事，我们都会有麻烦的。
A: 他很直率，说我们当时都在扔雪球，真的没有注意是谁把窗玻璃打破的，还到了歉。
B: 他坦诚的回答和孩子般的率直让老师想生气也生不起来了。
