Steel的本意是“钢”，钢铁有稳定，坚硬的性质。我们经常听到“铁一般的事实，铁一般的证据”等。As true as steel的字面意思是“和铁一样真实”，意思即：千真万确，绝对可靠，忠实可靠。它既可以用来形容人“忠实可靠”，又可以用来形容事情“真实可靠”。
