许多实验都失败了，情况越来越糟糕了。

B: You should find out the crucial reason of the failure first.

你应该首先找出失败的关键原因。

1. 解释

It goes south. 意思是“（情况）越来越糟了”。在80年代之前，其用法只限于字面意思，意思是“去南方”。而到了80年代中后期，to go south的意思是之后“（销量）下降”。其英文解释为：to fall; to go down。
