British soul star Joss Stone's second album Mind, Body & Soul has entered the US chart at number 11. Stone's debut just outside the top 10, is an increasingly rare achievement for a British singer. The US chart is usually dominated by home-grown acts.

Artists such as Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue have struggled to match their British success in the US. Stone's album looks set to be among the US Christmas best-sellers, following the success of debut The Soul Sessions. The Devon teenager, born Jocelyn Stoker, has made regular appearances in the US and The Soul Sessions has sold some 600,000 copies in America. Profile boost She recently recorded a Christmas duet with legendary Rolling Stone frontman Mike Jagger, and also sings the title song in the remake of 1960s film Alfie. Mind, Body & Soul is currently featured in the top 10 in 12 countries, including Japan, Australian and Brazil. Earlier this month, Stone became the youngest female solo artist to top the UK album charts when it debuted at number one. The 17-year-old singer will embark on a series of UK concerts next month and hopes to tour in Japan, Australia and the US in 2005.
