According to the Postchronicle.com on January 23, Norway youth Walter Eikrem, 13, was saved from a possible horror scene when, during a walk home through the woods near his home, a pace of hungry wolves began to track his footsteps。
The Rakkestad teen had just stepped off his school bus and was heading up a hillside when he spotted what he first thought were the neighbor's dogs. Watching carefully, he realized the gray masses were actually four wolves waiting for him。
Fearing that they were getting ready to attack, Walter remained calm, remembering his mother's exhortation not to run away if he ever encountered the animals in the wild. So he stood his ground and figured he might be able to scare the animals off with the music from his cell phone。
Eikrem took the earphones out of his cell phone, cranked up the music, and began waving his arms wildly at the wolves, and sure enough, the wolves turned and trotted away。
