英国核潜艇发生枪击事件 起因是与领导“抢厕所”

A ROYAL Navy officer was killed and another seriously wounded today when a fellow service member shot them onboard the nuclear submarine HMS Astute as it was docked in southern England.
英国新型核潜艇“敏捷号”上发生枪击事件，造成一名海军军官死亡，另一人受重伤。

The Times of London said a row over a toilet triggered the shooting.
英国泰晤士报道说，枪击源于跟厕所有关的争执。

A Ministry of Defence source told the Times, "With civic dignitaries on board, toilet arrangements were stretched to the absolute limit. I'm told the rating said he urgently needed to attend a call of nature only to be ordered to allow visitors first use of a toilet near the control room. It appears that matters suddenly got out of hand and shots were fired."

Later, the leader of Southampton Council, Royston Smith, described to the BBC how he was in the control room when "someone entered, there was an exchange of words, very brief, and he stepped out." Two shots were then fired, he said.

The injured officer, whose condition was originally described as life-threatening, was later upgraded to stable, police said.

About 30 people were believed to be aboard the £1.2 billion ($1.9 billion) submarine, reportedly the most advanced vessel of its kind in the world, when the gunfire erupted at midday local time.

British Defense Minister Liam Fox said, "I am greatly saddened to hear of this incident and of the death of a Royal Navy service person in this tragic incident. My thoughts and sympathies are with those who have been affected and their families."
