If a person is lying they tend to over-embellish insignificant details while avoiding important ones. Exaggerated details make the liar feel better, but the person who is hearing the lie will start to get the feeling that something is definitely amiss. This can make it easier to catch a person in a lie because you can jot down details of the story that you are being told and then ask questions about those details later to see if they are still the same. 

撒谎者大都喜欢避重就轻，过分描述无关紧要的细节而忽略关键部分。过多的细节描述让撒谎者自我感觉良好，而听话的人却会发现有些什么被忽略了。此时，想要判断这个人是否撒谎很简单：只要略记下他们所说的一些细节，过会儿再问一遍，看两次的描述是否一致。
