Opera "Poet Li Bai"
As a renowned ancient poet, Li Bai, who lived more than 1,000 years ago, has already been put on show in various ways—but none of those has included opera! This is part of the reason why an ongoing opera project called Poet Li Bai has attracted so much attention long before its premiere this July. Creating the first opera based on this a larger-than-life figure has been no easy task for those involved, however. They want to make sure that every aspect of the show, including the libretto, the melody and the characters, as well as the set and costume, will live up to expectations.
The Female Psychologist"
Among an array of Chinese writers, Bi Shumin is quite a unique person in the Chinese literary scene. The female writer, who came to prominence in the 1980s, is also a physician and psychologist. With skill and ease in the fields of medicine, psychology and literature, she brings the perspectives of her multiple roles to her work. Her latest production is a full length novel, "The Female Psychologist." Let's follow our reporter Ning Yan to take a closer look at Bi Shumin and her new novel "The Female Psychologist.”
"The Wrangler"
An easy-to-recognize voice can give a talented singer a good head-start. But to march on along the music path depends on much more. After two years of silence, Chinese mainland pop singer and songwriter Yang Kun is now back with his latest album, "The Wrangler". This new production, according to the artist himself, has led him to the perfect state of creating music. Manli has more.
